2018 Big Red Kidney Walk will be on Sunday 9 September, save the date and let's walk as one for kidney health again in 2018!

See 2017 Walk photos from across Australia on our Facebook page!

2017 Kidney Health’s Big Red Kidney Walk invited the people of Australia to walk together as one, in support of Australians affected by kidney disease. With 1 in 3 Australians at increased risk of disease, this was a chance to make a difference in raising awareness, and fundraise for kidney health.

Key walks were held on Sunday 10 September in Melbourne, Brisbane, Sydney, Perth, Canberra, Launceston and Adelaide. We encouraged supporters who live some distance from a city, to Host Your Own walk—offering event resources and information for guidance!

Visit our official 2017 Walk website.

For supporters who we're unable to attend and event, support was given through sponsoring a walker or giving a donation. See how you can help us today here!

Why I Walk

In 2017, we encouraged walk participants to share their story of 'Why I Walk.' On the day, across Australia Big Red Kidney Walk participants will wrote 'Why I Walk' on their registration bibs.  Some walkers are personally affected by kidney disease, others walked in honour of a loved one. There were those who work in the field and are passionate about supporting kidney health, whilst many supporters joined us just because they care. Though our stories may be different, on Sunday 10 September 2017 kidney community walked as one!

 Dress in red!

This year we sourced prizes to award to best dressed red themed outfits! Awards were given to:

  • Best Dressed Team
  • Best Dressed Individual
  • Best Dressed Dog!

We saw some wonderful and creative costumes, whilst others geared up in our walk merchandise, purchased online!
