About the rally

Our annual Kidney Kar Rally was launched in 1989. Every year rally teams navigate across thousands of kilometres across the Australian countryside. As well as being a thrilling and memorable experience for participants, the event raises much-needed funds to support our national Kidney Kids Camps, Kidney Kids Capers and Young Adult Programs.

Kidney Kar Rally also raises community awareness of kidney disease throughout the rally route. At major pit stops, staff and participants educate local communities about kidney disease and the importance of prevention, detection and support.

The rally follows the traditions of the Australian reliability trials from the 1970s. These trials test the driver, navigator and the vehicle, with results recorded on time-distance averages. This is not a race but a drive of skill. Participants choose their own competitive level!

Recent rallies have travelled from Alice Springs to Moama via Coober Pedy, Gundagai to Cootamundra via Mt Gambier, Tamworth to Armidale via Bundaberg, Mandurah to Bendigo via The Nullarbor, Wagga Wagga to Cowra via Port Macquarie and Swan Hill to Glen Innes via The Flinders Ranges.

Our next adventure will be a 4000km journey from 3-11 August 2018, traveling from Goulburn to Queanbeyan via Ballarat. Join us as we celebrate our 30th year!
