The DonateLife network comprises organ and tissue donation agencies and staff in 72 hospitals across Australia, working specifically on organ and tissue donation.
DonateLife is an initiative of the Organ and Tissue Authority, which works with states and territories, clinicians and the community sector to deliver the Australian Government’s national reform program to improve organ and tissue donation and transplantation outcomes.
DonateLife Week is a week of activities to promote and raise awareness of organ and tissue donation. It provides a timely reminder to all Australians of the need to discuss their donation decision with loved ones, and to ask and know their donation decisions.
DonateLife Week is the national awareness week to promote organ and tissue donation in Australia. In 2016 it will be held from Sunday 31 July to Sunday 7 August.
A new initiative DonateLife Thank You Day, held for the first time on Sunday 22 November 2015, is a national day to acknowledge organ and tissue donors and families that agreed to donation.
