Transplant housing program

Kidney Transplant Houses

We are dedicated to providing rural and regional kidney transplant patients with secure, comfortable quality accommodation where they can rest and recover from surgery or undergo dialysis training and education.

Our Kidney Transplant Houses offer the opportunity to keep families together, while easing their financial and emotional burden.

FAITH house (WA patients)

Emorgo house - Western Astraliau

Families needing to travel to Perth for live kidney transplants can access furnished accommodation at our two FAITH kidney transplant houses.

Located in Morley, they are named Haywood House and Hutchison House, in recognition of two senior Perth kidney specialists.

Many rural families involved in living donation, deceased donation and dialysis education have stayed in these houses for lengthy periods, enjoying quality accommodation they could not otherwise afford.

A generous grant provided by Lotterywest funded the extensive initial fit-out of the houses, allowing rural patients to arrive with just a suitcase.

FAITH has assisted families travelling from Victoria, Queensland and New Zealand to participate in kidney transplants in Western Australia. These families have all received a warm welcome by our FAITH housing team.

Facilities

FAITH housing consists of two adjacent three-bedroom homes fitted out to cater for all our patients needs, enabling them to recover in a secure, peaceful and relaxing environment.

The houses are located in Morley, just a five-minute walk from a major shopping centre and bus stop.

Each of the FAITH houses includes:

  • a master bedroom with built-in robes and a private bathroom
  • a double bedroom
  • a children’s bedroom
  • a full-sized bathroom with bath
  • heating and cooling
  • an outdoor alfresco area
  • fully equipped kitchen with fridge, freezer, pantry, oven and cook top, microwave, dishwasher, kettle, toaster, crockery and utensils
  • TV in both the living room and main bedroom
  • laundry equipped with washing machine, dryer and sink
