Clinical Director

We're seeking a Nephrology specialist for the position of Clinical Director.

Reporting to the CEO and liaising closely with members of the Senior Leadership Team, we are seeking a Clinical Director to provide clinical leadership to Kidney Health Australia across programs that include early detection, education, research, and support for people with kidney disease.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Research and analysis

  • Engages in studies and investigations related to improving the treatment and knowledge of those suffering illnesses related to kidney diseases.
  • Analysis of key reports, health system, and international developments

Advice

  • To provide advice and support, be a credible and technical voice, and provide leadership on advocacy priorities to the CEO
  • Advise on position statements relating to treatments, pharmaceuticals and government policy issues
  • Advise on direction for primary care and early detection
  • Take clinical issues to new ANZSN Policy and Quality committee for consultation/advice as needed
  • Provide regular input directly to KHA regarding priorities for renal community in kidney disease management, facilitating ongoing strategy and business planning

Advocacy/Representation

  • Representing KHA to the media, PR events, conferences and chairing key medical committees
  • Effective engagement with other key stakeholders
  • Act as a Kidney Health champion, building the profile of both Kidney Health Australia and Kidney Health

Leadership

  • Lead the strategy and direction to improve outcomes in priority areas for the kidney community.
  • Provide leadership for developing clinical directorate funding opportunities
  • Registered Nephrology specialist
  • Project management experience
  • Expertise in management, treatment and prevention of kidney disease
  • Expert knowledge and experience of the renal health environment and existing relationships with renal health professionals
  • A commitment to evidence-based practice and knowledge of research principles, and experience with research projects

Qualifications and Experience

  • Registered Nephrology specialist
  • Project management experience
  • Expertise in management, treatment and prevention of kidney disease
  • Expert knowledge and experience of the renal health environment and existing relationships with renal health professionals
  • A commitment to evidence-based practice and knowledge of research principles, and experience with research projects
