Community Fundraising Christmas Volunteer

We are looking for friendly energetic volunteers to assist us during the Christmas period at a busy shopping centre near Brisbane. Volunteers will be stationed at stands located in the shopping centre, to assist with wrapping presents for Christmas shoppers. Volunteers will also assist with collecting donations on behalf of Kidney Health Australia to help raise much needed funds to support people living with kidney disease.

Dates and location 

Daily, starting from December 9 until the December 24, 2020.

 Time commitment

We have a minimum requirement of three shifts per volunteer for this event, three hours per session. Please let us know in your application which dates you would like to assist with.

Responsibilities and tasks  

  • Manning the wrapping stations on a rotating roster
  • Wrapping Christmas presents for shoppers
  • Collecting donations on behalf of Kidney Health Australia
  • Carrying around money tins and engaging with shoppers to ask for the kind donations to support those living with kidney disease 

 Qualifications and skills  

  • Skills in gift wrapping
  • Christmas spirit
  • Positive attitude, friendly and easy going 
  • Comfortable in large and busy crowds 
  • Comfortable engaging people to ask for their donations 
  • Able to easily access the designated shopping centre
  • Empathy and understanding of issues experiences by people living with or affected by kidney disease

 Volunteers will be required to arrange their own transport to and from the event.

Volunteers will be provided with a t-shirt and cap for the event.

You may be on your feet for this event so we encourage you to wear comfortable shoes and attire on the day.  

 Training and Support   

  • We will provide you with what you need to know about Kidney Health Australia before the event and information to support you on the day 
  • A coordinator will be there on the day to help answer any questions

 Background checks   

 We are committed to providing a safe and healthy working environment for our employees and volunteers. As part of recruiting dedicated and professional volunteers who have the skills and experience appropriate for this role, we will be conducting a phone interview prior to appointment.
