We are looking for an enthusiastic Volunteer Consumer Support Officer to be part of our friendly Community Programs team to help us keep our Programs running smoothly and keep our kidney community connected to vital information and resources. The Volunteer Consumer Support Officer will help with office administration tasks, data entry, checking in with our kidney consumers and assisting to organise community engagement activities. You will support activities for the Volunteer Program and work closely with the Community Programs Coordinator to help deliver our Big Red Kidney Bus, Transplant House and Kidney Kids Programs.

Time commitment

1 - 2 days per week, ongoing

Volunteer duties and responsibilities

As a Volunteer Consumer Support Officer at Kidney Health Australia, you will help by performing the following duties:

  • Following up with consumers and volunteers via phone or email
  • Recording consumer personal information in the database and ensuring data is kept up to date
  • Calling volunteers and thanking them for their contribution
  • Gathering feedback and record keeping
  • Providing office support across our community programs and teams
  • Updating our foyer with patient education and materials
  • Assisting with the review of documents
  • Other duties as directed by the Community Services Manager or nominated staff
  • Assisting with community programs administrative tasks and research

Qualifications and skills:

  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong consumer liaison skills
  • Empathy and understanding of the issues experienced by people who have or are affected by kidney disease
  • Skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and basic understanding of databases
  • Good attention to detail and comfortable following directions
  • Ability to check back on duties and provide an update
  • Enthusiastic and ready to pitch in

Training and Support:

  • Training will be provided for the successful applicant.
