Currently 1 in every 4 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people will develop kidney disease.
Kidney Health Autralia have developed a series of five fact sheets and an accompanying flip chart to support chronic kidney disease education. The PDFs are available for download here:
- How do I keep healthy?
- Kidney Disease and our mob
- What do kidneys do?
- What is chronic kidney disease (CKD)?
- Who needs a kidney check?
Australian Indigenous HealthInfonet - The Australian Indigenous Health Infonet provides information for people working, studying, or interested in all diseases and has a specific section for kidney health among Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. They aim to provide quality information and resources about kidney health among Indigenous people. This includes categories such as resources, publications, policy, workforce and organisations.
If you would like a hardcopy please email primarycare@kidney.org.au to request these resources.
These fact sheets and flipchart were kindly funded by an Impact Perpetual grant.
