Kaitlyn's story

Kaitlyn lives with kidney disease but refuses to let it take over her life. A self confessed 'frequent flyer' of the Big Red Kidney Bus, she regularly travels.

Bus ‘frequent flyer’ Kaitlyn loves how the Bus allows her to holiday with family and friends as well as visit places in Australia she would have never seen. She has been on board since the Bus launched, booking three trips within its first year! She has enjoyed numerous trips to Yarrawonga, Lakes Entrance and Anglesea, just to name a few.

“The best thing about the Bus is the ease of booking and how the Bus allows you to get out of the house and get your life back! I love holidaying with friends but it’s really hard to organise hospital dialysis. I struggle driving long hours so the availability of seats on the Bus make it easier for me to go further away as I can stay longer.”

“Anglesea was such a memorable trip, I was lucky enough to be able to enjoy this location with both family and friends. You get the best of both worlds there, the beautiful beaches and scenic hikes to waterfalls and it’s only a short drive to other destinations along the Great Ocean Road. I’m so glad it was one of the locations for the Bus because it hasn’t been on my travel radar.”
