When you volunteer for Kidney Health Australia, you vote to improve the quality of life of 1.7 million Australians, plus their families and carers, impacted by kidney disease. The precious time you spend helping out makes an enormous difference – not only does your support make their days better, you create a brighter future for kidney health in Australia.
Kidney Health Australia is fueled by passionate volunteers. We rely on them to help run our programs and services, provide support, and increase awareness of kidney disease in Australia.
All volunteers receive training in their role and are supported by staff to get the most out of the opportunity. Volunteers become part of our kidney community; they gain new skills, make new friends, and have fun too. Best of all, they enjoy the sense of reward that comes from making a real difference to those when they need it the most.
Volunteering commitments vary depending on the type of role. For example, you may contribute your time ongoing or for a short-term project only (such as a fundraising event).
Depending on the role, you may be required to undergo some screening checks, including police checks, Working with Children Checks and reference checks. These requirements will be clearly outlined before you get involved.
Not all roles require experience. In these cases, we provide training and support. If you have a particular skillset, please let us know and we’ll do our best to assign a role where your skills will be put to good use.
