Community support

Here are details of our Kidney Clubs from across Australia. We also promote various support groups, provide news of upcoming events, and give you information about our holiday programs for people on dialysis.

Kidney Club

An important focus for our effectiveness at Kidney Health Australia is achieving the best possible outcomes from the smartest investment of our resources and funds. With the exciting appointment our new CEO Mikaela Stafrace, we have been reviewing all of our activities to ensure we’re delivering appropriate program and services, which benefit all Australians living with kidney disease equally.

Community Services Managers across Australia work with local consumers to bring this program together. Later in the year we will advise our consumers of support programs with a stronger focus on improving their quality of life on atheir kidney journey.

The benefits of attending a Kidney Club

Our Kidney Clubs are support groups specifically for people with any stage of kidney disease, who are on dialysis, have had or are waiting for a kidney transplant, or have one or more health conditions that can cause kidney function impairment.

The major benefit of people with kidney disease and their families joining a Kidney Club is meeting other people who have experience with kidney disease, or any chronic disease. You can learn from others how to cope with and manage your daily needs, how to provide appropriate and effective care, and how to more easily live with your condition. You can also learn about available resources and how others solve problems you may be experiencing.

Kidney Clubs are organised with the support of local hospitals, volunteers and members of the kidney community.
