Kidney Research Alliance

Prevent. Treat. Cure. Together.

The Kidney Research Alliance is a joint initiative between Kidney Health Australia and the Australian and New Zealand Society of Nephrology (ANZSN). Conceptualised in 2022 and formally established in 2025, the Alliance was developed in response to the National Strategic Action Plan for Kidney Disease and is designed to increase strategic investment, foster cross collaboration, promote discover and translate emerging research into real world outcomes in Nephrology.

The Alliance seeks to collaborate broadly with research organisations, researchers, the health community, and people with lived experience, and use data, evidence and research to drive improvements in kidney health

Our goals are:

1. Grow investment in kidney health research in Australia

2. Develop and prosecute Australian research priorities aligned to the areas of greatest impact in kidney health

3. Collaborate with Australian and International research institutions, individual researchers, and people with lived experience to collectively be a strong voice on kidney health

Opportunities to be involved

One of the major goals of the Kidney Research Alliance is to collaborate broadly with stakeholders and organisations working in kidney research to build a strong voice to advocate our priorities. There is an imperative for us to hear your voice.

If you would like to discuss how you can get involved, please reach out to a member of the steering committee, or contact us at research@kidney.org.au
