Polycystic kidney disease (PKD) leads to fluid-filled sacs (called cysts) to grow in the kidneys. These cysts cause your kidneys to get larger and makes it harder for the to filter wastes properly. Polycystic kidney disease is a genetic disease, meaning its passed down from parent to child.
