Whether you’re newly diagnosed or managing day-to-day, everything you need is in one place—designed for you, at your pace.

Your overall health and wellbeing play an important role in kidney disease progression. Some of the things you can do to help manage your kidney disease include:

  • visit your doctor regularly to check on your kidneys
  • complete any blood tests, urine tests, or imaging scans needed to monitor your disease
  • take medicines as prescribed by your doctor
  • keep your other conditions, like diabetes or high blood pressure, under control
  • learn about your condition and how to self-manage.

The best way to care for yourself is to follow a healthy lifestyle. Luckily, following a healthy lifestyle not only affects your kidneys, but your overall health. Some healthy habits include:

  • say no to smoking or vaping – for support with quitting, visit https://www.quit.org.au/
  • eat a healthy diet with fruits, vegetables, wholegrains and lean proteins
  • get enough exercise aiming for 2.5-5 hours per week
  • sleep 7-9 hours per night
  • avoid processed foods high in fat, sugar, and salt.
