Brief Description:

This study explores how kidney transplantation affects the quality of life of highly sensitised patients—those with antibodies that make finding a compatible donor more difficult. We will use surveys and interviews to understand how these patients’ expectations compare with their lived experiences after transplant. To better understand what makes their experience unique, we will also include a small comparison group of non-sensitised transplant recipients. The goal is to improve informed consent and post-transplant support for highly sensitised patients. By understanding how kidney transplantation affects their quality of life, and how this differs from non-sensitised patients, the study aims to improve the information, support, and care provided to people living with kidney disease before and after transplant.
