Research Form

Thank you for your interest in supporting kidney health research. There are several ways to get involved

  • to fund research, please visit our donate page
  • to participate in a clinical trial, please visit our clinical trials page
  • to participate in research and guideline design and development, please see below.

Consumer involvement

'Consumers' are people who have a lived experience of a health issue. They might receive healthcare or advice or use healthcare services. They can be patients, their friends, their families, their carers, and members of the general public.

By sharing your lived experience with researchers, you help to ensure that research and guidelines are appropriate and consistent with values and preferences. you do not need any research experience or have a science background to participate; support is provided by relevant research or guideline groups.

Types of involvement

Kidney Health Australia can connect you to researchers that are helping to save and improve the lives of people with kidney disease. You can take part as much or as little as you like, and there are many ways to participate such as:

  • working with researchers and research funders to set research priorities
  • being members of grant application review panels
  • contributing as members of project steering groups
  • commenting on and developing research materials
  • being a 'research buddy' or link between the researcher and the public
  • helping with dissemination and implementation of research findings.

If you're interested in getting involved, please sign up here. We welcome people of all ages and backgrounds with links to all types of kidney disease and kidney cancer experiences. You are volunteering your time; there is no financial cost. Once you have signed up, there is no obligation to participate if you don't want to.
